Movie Review: Zinda Bhaag

Friendship,family,finances...dreams,career,social circus... this is what Zinda Bhaag is all about. A young Pakistani guy is trying to enter Europe just because he believes European visa is a lottery ticket which can settle all his financial issues. Story revolves around his efforts to somehow reach Europe. How and Where he ends up is the theme of the story. Interesting thing is,witty one liners, catchy upbeat music and Naseer-ud-Din Shah aren't the only featuring things of Zinda Bhaag. With unexpectedly exceptional script, excellent cinematography, good editing helps directors to give movie a proper movie look. Finally a movie not based on post 9/11 Shit happened to Pakistan or not inspired from Maula-Jatt phenomenon Zinda Bhaag,is a great addition to Pakistani Cinema. Its a must watch!! Highly recommended!!

Main Hoon Shahid Afridi: Movie Review

You'll see Kabir Khan of 'chak de' in some scenes,in others there will be action of chulbul panday from dabangg and yes of course Bhuvan of Lagaan is also there...Time to talk about the new Pakistani movie 'Main Hoon Shahid Afridi'.
Pathetic screenplay, even worse acting performances by new comers and Hamayon Saeed. Somebody please tell him,he doesn't need to Copy Shahrukh in every other frame. Mahnoor Baloch is stunning but wasn't given chance to leave any impact by her acting. Only reasonable acting performance in the movie is by Javed Sheikh. But even with all its weaknesses MHSA isn't a total waste of money.
Story revolves around an ex-cricketer who was banned from playing cricket due to false accusations of using drugs and a club dancer. Its about his struggle how he gets a chance to rectify the things, which had not only ruined his career but also his family life. Its good to see Pakistani Cinema sliding away from political drama or bashing right wing ideology. Although story is very predictable and like I mentioned it reminds you of so many Bollywood movies still Pakistani touch makes it a must watch. I enjoyed the movie experience after all its a Pakistani product!! If movie like Chennai Express can earn billions from here then MHSA,definitely a better movie, deserves a better response.

Forgot the birthday????!!!!!!

Let me take you 5 years back and talk about an incident which shook our lives.
It was a fresh springy morning of second day of March. Qasim surprisingly woke up early morning that day and told us that he wanted to give us(me and Haroon) treat. We asked the reason but Qasim didn't tell us. We were quite sure that he had got committed or he was officially engaged or he had been married for sometime and he wanted to break the news at lunch table or Qasim was always been a father of three sons and he wanted to break that.(similar myth about Niazi sometimes bothers us even now.) Anyways he took us out for the lunch. Ordered lavish meals and didn't eat even a single thing except in the last when we two were done with food he poured some water in glass, took a sip,and said(in his mystical and bass-y voice): "I've my birthday today." After saying this he paid the bill and left the hall.
I was all in tears. I wanted to yell,I wanted to scream, agony was unbearable. In my whole life I never felt that bad. But in James Bond's words "the damage had been done!!!" And nothing could've possibly revert it!!
At that time I would've committed suicide if I didn't have Haroon with me. Who showed me the other side of picture. He told me its just a birthday,I should move on after all we had a delicious lunch, what more one can expect. And then I realized he was so right!! I laughed the regret out and life was again as beautiful as I always wanted it to be. Life tests you,but at the same time it gives you unlimited turns to rectify things. We just need realize this.
So happy birthday Haroon. I wish you a great life ahead. I don't care you give me a treat or not,cuz my Allah is enough for me. One day I dream of spaghetti and same day I get it. The other day when I dream of muffins I'm provided with it.
My
Allah is enough for me.
Long story short I tried my best to make this day a memorable one for you. If,after spending 7years(day and night) you think I don't deserve a single mighty zinger then I've no issue. To be that modest is my choice and I don't want any reward from any human being.

11th May,2013 -The Day!!!

There was a time when the struggle of Muslim Student Federation during 40s was used to surprise me and I never got how and why youngster can possibly take active part in the politics and seek apparently impossible looking dream. Yes, Pakistan was a miracle and youngsters of 40s not only sacrificed their studies, time and money they had but also they sacrificed their chances to win their Cleopatras!!!Although after seeing your great grand mother's picture you may try to consider you great grand father a lazy guy who didn't do anything for this country but seriously what is wrong with you??!!! Why can't you have good opinion about your elders?? She was a reward from God for all the hard work your great grand father did!!!
After all the media bloom and mobiles and internet no one could've imagined that any decent,focussed,well-established,in relationship(no matter its complicated ),preparing for exams, applying for job, about to get promoted,or contrarily a cheap, vulgar, highly annoying, flirt, stalker, third division metric pass, just thrown out of a job young guy or girl can show even a minor interest in the political scenario of Pakistan. I was used to think "just done with pooping." is more important to post than "yay!!elections tomorrow,I'll cast my vote!". But here I'm living a day where my timelines are full of political posts!! Elections are becoming The Event in Pakistan!! Everyone is excited about The Day!!! My cell phone is continuously buzzing with hundreds of messages about how,why and to whom cast vote. Party manifestoes were never been as important as they were this time. Whether you are from elite class or middle class, you are rich or poor, teacher or student, doctor or patient, salesman or customer you are well aware of the fact how important casting your vote is!! Before tomorrow only 37percent of the people in this country were used to decide the fate of this country but now it'll increase cuz this time the silent majority is going to vote for the very first time!!
Now if this silent majority votes, definitely results remain no more predictable. The two party system, Pakistanis were used to follow is threatened by a newer third force. And everybody is expecting something unexpected from this party!! Imran Khan emerged as a symbol of hope and he gave the slogan of Naya Pakistan. Hopes are high. Enthusiasm is at its peak. Whoever sweeps the elections, which I think no one can,it'll be a win-win situation for Pakistan! For the first time people has started to believe that change can come only in a Democratic way and Dictatorship can't be a solution. These election will mark the rise of Naya Pakistan,no matter which party rules the country!! All my prayers with the one's who are contesting but I really want Khan make the government. Just for a change.

The Change

I was there on 30th Oct,2011..I witnessed the zeal of 23rd March this year and I was with the truck of Imran Khan in Tabdeeli express rally. The point I wanna make here is,I'm continuously following the election campaign of PTI more closely than campaigns of other parties.
Many of my "fellow fans of Imran Khan" try to prove that media is biased and their competitors are injecting money to the media empires to suppress the heroes of social media at the front of electronic media which is,in my humble opinion, totally wrong.
Pakistan is a Democratic country and for the first time we are about to experience a safe transition under civilian rule without,so far,a major blow to the system. Everyone is free to express his/her opinion and we can't force him/her agree with us. But my Insafian fellows troll down anyone who expresses his/her views differing from their ideology. They think their leader is flawless, perfect. He can't commit mistakes and even if he does he has supernatural powers to make it right. You criticise them, they'll abuse you. You criticise their opponent, they'll make you hero. You show neutrality they'll force you have the pork in their plate and believe it was halal beef.I request you all to get rid of such attitude. This is not the Pakistan we are dreaming of.
Trust me the coverage PTI gets in electronic media is much more than other main stream parties. Imran walks out of his house, they show it on tv.Imran enters the house, they break it on tv. Imran smiles,Imran laughs,Imran sweats,Imran taunts, everything is a breaking news on news channels.tune into any talk show and news bulletin you'll always see something about Imran Khan and PTI. Then how can we even think, media isn't covering us.
I agree change is inevitable, but trust me a single man can't bring the change. To change Pakistan and make it a better, brighter Pakistan we all need to change ourselves first. Rather than wasting our energies in social media wars we need to excel in our respective fields. Be the best students,be the best teachers,be the best doctors,be the best engineers,be the best wherever you go. That'll be the start of Naya Pakistan. And that will be the change we all are dreaming of. Alone Imran Khan can't do anything.
Please do vote and vote wisely.

Why Imran Khan??

Whether it was my study or my health,it was my career or my goals, mistakes I committed or the lessons I learnt,In my whole life I didn't take anything seriously because I never find any good reason for that..everything,in this life,we do or build, doesn't have any permanent impact. Every desire we have, every goal we set, ultimately loses its importance with time. We always seek higher and better. The mistakes we commit can't hold us long and we are always ready to experiment again and again and again. Every ailment we suffer from eventually dies,no matter, with us. One may not find it very impressive but tell you what,it helped me a lot in a way that I was,and yes I'm,quite contended with what I was and what I'm.
But now for the first time in my whole life I'm desperate of one goal, one desire...you may call it an obsession,or a disease I'm suffering from but seriously I want Imran Khan as the next prime minister of Pakistan. I know we all want a better and brighter Pakistan,we all have loyalties with different parties and schools of thought but at the same time we all know Imran is honest and he really worked hard to achieve this peak in his political career where he is standing right now. And interesting thing is,this is not the reason I'm supporting him...
Lets try to focus on our lives. At this stage what do we expect from our life?? A shining career?? Wealth?? Fame?? Respect in society?? Being loved by everyone?? Or what? Yes, if we get even a single thing from it,we'll be much more than just satisfied with our lives. Shouldn't I tell you the story of a guy who had everything in his life. A shining career?? O come on,I don't think any one can excel more than him in his profession, which was his passion as well, who can be luckier than him?? Wealth?? How would you feel if you earn millions of dollars by working only few days per year?? What if your personality and charisma is beyond fame. You are loved by billions. You are blindly trusted by people who donate you billions and billions of dollars to run apparently impossible set up in Medical history of not only Pakistan but also in the history of mankind without the support of govt, and still you manage to maintain excellence. This is the trust and respect Imran has!!!!
Then the question is what this guy is doing in Politics?? if I get chance to live his life I'll avoid even a remote association with political scenario, especially,of Pakistan. But No !!!! Even here we see him standing against the wind!!! No body could've imagined that someone in Pakistan can make such a political party where everyone is accountable!!! Where youngster can get a chance to become leaders. Where intelligentsia of the country can be the brain of the party. Honest people, rather than the thugs and land Mafia, can be the Faces of the party. I don't say his system is flawless but he gave us chance to see something closer to perfection. Now its our turn to make it flawless!!!
People say he won't be able to achieve what he desires, I pity them. Becoming prime minister isn't what he desires. His actual goal is to make a brighter and better Pakistan and being a citizen of Pakistan he did whatever he could have within his capacity. Naow its our turn to strengthen him. We all deserve a Naya Pakistan. And Insha Allah we'll achieve it. Haters should be thankful that Imran hasn't set PM seat his target, otherwise he is a Sagittarian and a hard working one. He just needs to set a target and you know,he will achieve it!!!!!
