After listening to the both episodes of the latest edition of coke studio it is very hard for anyone to deny this fact that Strings has done an exceptional job by not only meeting the standards set by Rohail Hayat but also taking the show to a whole new level after an under-appreciated sixth season. The thing which I observed in this latest installment is not-so-dominating-nature of the producers when we compare them with Rohail. They sound very accommodating and very receptive when it comes to finalising a session. Involvement of the featuring artists and the house band has added a very fresh look to the season. Rohail produced 6 brilliant seasons in a row,even all time famous bands and artists after 3,4 albums get saturated,it's quite natural that gradually he was sounding bit exhausted in beats and groves.
Stings isn't the very best choice for CS but then question arises how come Bilal and Faisal are doing this well?? The answer is,CS isn't dependent on producers now,they have got the veteran team and very talented artists who are enough to save this franchise. Now Strings just need to be careful in the choice of artists. There are definitely some blunders regarding selection of singers especially when you are trying to save a dying empire but in this world nothing conjured up by humans is perfect. So till this second episode I have nothing but a standing ovation for strings for doing a brilliant job. You guys has successfully saved something which had always been very special to me.
